Sanitary engineer H K E Hargis of the State Health Department urged protection of the Lake Amarillo watershed. He found seepage from the lake reaches city water wells up to the high water mark of 30 feet. He advised against camping fishing or trespassing on the five and one half acre area and said cattle grazing poses infection risks to infants from watershed contamination.
