Trucker Ils Burned In Wreck Near St Francis
A truck driver, Ils Trigg, was seriously burned with second degree injuries after a 1942 Chevrolet semi-trailer carrying butane tanks overturned two miles east of St Francis on U S Highway 60. He was rushed to St Anthonys Hospital after by a passing motorist. Investigators said the driver likely fell asleep at the wheel as the vehicle left the road, struck a ditch, and gas sprayed from a broken butane valve. The truck, owned by Lyle Blanton of Hereford, had been driven by the man for about two weeks.
