Sandie High School earned five excellent ratings at the 17th Tri-State Music Festival in Enid Oklahoma May 10 13. Orchestra conducted by Orion Dalley featured soloists Catherine Childers Charles Steed George Aulbach and a clarinet quartet. The mass orchestra included top musicians from Oklahoma Texas and Missouri with six players achieving superior ratings Dorothy Jean Melton Mary Crow and Jimmy Forbus among those rated excellent.

Injured boy falls from bicycle in West Sixth block
William Earl Worth aged 17 of 2413 North West Thirteenth suffered minor bruises when he fell from his bicycle in the 3100 block of West Sixth at about 11 this morning. He was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital by Boxwell Brothers ambulance and released after emergency treatment.
