Fifty West Texas town representatives will take part in the Rainbow Roundup, an entertainment feature of the West Texas Chamber of Commerce convention opening in San Angelo Monday for three days.

In Dallas on May 11 jurors in the Raymond Hamilton case, charged with bank robbery and habitual criminal status, declined dismissal by Judge Noland G. Williams after more than 40 hours of deliberation. The judge suggested ending the session if a unanimous verdict seemed unlikely.
A Kansas National Guard detachment patrolled the Wichita jail to deter any attempt to free dozens of unemployed rioters held for investigation. The night passed quietly despite a report that the jobless planned to raid stores for food and other merchandise. Additional troops remained ready.
The body of oil promoter Julian, who died by his own action on March 25, was laid to rest in Shanghai's foreign cemetery with Miss Leonora Levy as the sole mourner. The Rev. Emory Luccock conducted a brief service at the burial.

County judges, commissioners and other road boosters from ten Panhandle counties gathered in Amarillo for a Texas Division U S Highway 69 Association meeting at the Herring Hotel. The agenda includes Highway 60 route improvements and traffic betterment with N S Griggs of Amarillo among speakers. Actions will be reported to the national Highway 60 meeting in Riverside, California, in June.
Aneila Gorcyzea of Fort Worth defending champion in the Southern Women's Golf Association tournament was eliminated in the quarter final by Marion Miley of Lexington Kentucky two and one.

State and national park officials join Panhandle boosters to place the cornerstone for a Judge building in Palo Duro Park at 2 30 PM Saturday. The concrete slab sits 30 feet below the canyon rim as the site opens to the public for the first time. David E Colp chairs the Texas Park Board and will lay the stone with George Nason and other officials present.

Topeka on May 11 reports Kansas winter wheat, at 60 percent of normal as of May 1, estimated 99,362,000 bushels by the state board and federal agriculture department. This compares with 57,452,000 last year and 175,876,000 the 1927 31 five year average. 1932 production was 120,025,000 bushels.
Luke Lee and his son Luke Lee Jr entered North Carolina State Prison to serve sentences for violations of state banking laws. Former Colonel Senator and publisher, a noted Tennessee figure, was placed in custody as inmates arrived for routine processing.

A Texas unemployment relief conference between Miss Marie Dresden and John Wood was postponed as Wood was called away. The meeting is rescheduled for next week. The federal government has allotted 750000 for immediate Texas relief and about 2000000 for drought and flood areas.
London May 11 The world wheat conference collapsed after Argentina rejected the proposed minimum price scheme. The discussion followed a note from Buenos Aires and the margin quoted as 4 percent.
A jail inmate A M Thomas used tobacco sack scraps to weave a large quilt top. He stitched yellow draw strings into the pieces and embroidered names of prisoners and county officials. The project was finished after washing and ironing. Thomas awaits a ruling on his appeal from a five year conviction for assault with a deadly weapon.
Julius Dorenfield Jr appeals a district court ruling over the office of Texas relief commissioner. His motion seeks to advance the case and certify the quo warranto question to the State Supreme Court. The dispute centers on Speaker Coke Stevenson removing R I Holliday from the relief commission and whether removal was lawful.
