Star Mothers Honor Guests at VFW event
About 350 people attended the Veterans of Foreign Wars program at the Legion Hall honoring Gold Star mothers. Ten Gold Star mothers and two fathers were escorted in by John B. Golding Post officers. The event featured welcome remarks, toasts by Commander Meyers and Mrs. Birge, and an address by Bill Gilstrap on the mothers’ sacrifice. He contrasted war costs with domestic spending and urged continuing support for families. Guests included Gold Star parents from Pampa and local members.
