City seeks bids on pumps as Amos Amarillo area is eyed
The city commission plans to open bids tomorrow night for two pump sets. One set covers five electric pumps with motors starters and accessories for new wells on about 1000 acres recently bought 11% miles southwest of Amarillo. The other bids cover eight sewer pumps with capacities of 450 gpm for six units and 200 gpm for two units. The meeting may also discuss a civil service ordinance.

City Auditor Reports Budget Exceedances in Six Months
City expenditures ran $8,570 over budget in the first half of the fiscal year, a 1.46 percent excess, said J. C. Lilly the city auditor in a report to the city commission. He projects year end revenues will exceed estimates by $16,197 to total $1,180,962, and the budget will be over by $23,050 at September 30.

Sam Moore Charged in Theft of 1939 Ford Truck
In the 47th District Court Sam Moore of Amarillo general delivery was charged with stealing a 1939 Ford pickup owned by B. L. Hysmith of 2202 Lincoln. He was arrested by city officers Saturday night about 40 minutes after the theft was reported. Bond was set at $1,000 by Justice of the Peace C. W. Carder.
