A nationwide rail tie up of about 225000 miles looms if the strike begins next Tuesday. Roads warn of furloughs per contract five days to 48 hours notice while some non striking workers may be laid off and shop employees may remain active depending on impact.

Veteran Amarillo salesman C. H. Harrison dies at 46
C. H. Harrison best known as Sap Harri, 46, longtime Chrysler dealer in Amarillo, died at his home 916 Virginia after a year of ill health. Born in Hull, Tennessee, he moved to Texas as a child and settled in Amarillo 23 years ago. Survived by widow Pearl and four daughters, plus three brothers and one sister, he was a San Jacinto Methodist Church member and had marked a 23 year career in auto sales and parts. Vending Machines To Sell Stamps At Amarillo Post Office

Double Slaying in Perryton Stuns Ochiltree County
In Perryton Ochiltree County two ranchers, C W Barker 53 and his son W H Barker 26, were shot to death on a dirt road after a dispute over stock tank gates and property tied to land Cronister 40, charged with two counts of murder, posted 10 000 bond each, claiming I shot two men. Eye witness J R Cook said the confrontation occurred as Barker tried to reach a rifle on his pickup dash.
