Baptists Push Debate On New Efficiency Report At Convention
At the Louisville Southern Baptist convention opening on May 6, H F Vermillion sought to force immediate discussion of the efficiency commission report. Dr Austin Crouch, chair of the commission, had called its findings into question as a needless sanatorium expense, but was halted on a point of order until general discussion. The morning session focused on relief and annuity board figures showing $133,287.49 in aid to 1,145 beneficiaries after gains of 87 new names.
