A $10,000 building permit was issued yesterday for remodeling and finishing the basement of the Church of Christ Central at 1401 Monroe. Plans include a social hall with stage, classrooms, nursery, kitchen and library. Minister M. Cuthbertson, contractor W. Frank Little, and architects J. C. Berry and Kerr and Kerr oversee construction.

Funeral arrangements set by Boxwell Brothers for J Frank Wright Jr 63 operator of Wright Printing Co 518 Taylor who died last night at 9 30 from a brain hemorrhage at a local hospital He had long been a waterman of Seesardep area and was 63 years old.
Funeral rites for Mrs J W Pool mother of Mrs O'Brien Thompson will be at 2 oclock tomorrow at the First Baptist Church Abernathy Rev N C Nix will officiate. She was 74 and died yesterday in a local hospital after coming to Amarillo for treatment. She resided in Abernathy for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by another daughter Mrs Annie Biddy of Lubbock a son R T Pool of Redlands California three sisters Mrs Ruth Boaz of Amarillo Mrs J E Brown of Lubbock and Mrs J C Lee of Lindale plus eight grandchildren. Burial at Memorial Cemetery in Lubbock. Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Effie May Cole died March 15 while visiting her son at 814 Tennessee as her son B R Cole lay seriously ill. Funeral services were March 16 at N S Griggs Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev T Edgar Neal. Burial followed in Auburn Nebraska. She was 179 years old. Survivors include sons B R Cole and Fred L Cole both of Washington DC, daughters May L Franklin and S Kaye Amarillo, sister Mrs Lottie Liter of Clinton Oklahoma, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Robert Cantrell of 610 East Sixth recovered his stolen 1941 Ford sedan this morning. The car was taken last night from the 200 block on Taylor and found behind the Herring Hotel.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Boxwell Brothers Chapel. Rev. F E B Pincher of Ellwood Presbyterian Church will conduct the rites, with burial in Memorial Park. The family resides at Pantex Village.
