Amarillo sewer rules require shutdown for late payments
The ordinance states that nonpayment of sewer charges will lead to disconnection from the city sewerage system with no reconnection until all dues are paid plus $1 disconnection and $1 reconnection fees. If water use from city or other sources flows into the sewer, water will be disconnected until arrears are settled. The measure was introduced March 5, 1946, and adopted March 12, 1946, with signatures from Mayor Joe A. Jenkins and City Secretary Katheryne Burwell.
