Tires Burned In Collision Near Pampa
A head on crash on the Shamrock road five miles east of Pampa involved a Leeway truck carrying 600 tires and a car driven by Carl C. Freeman of Canadian. The truck burned nearly all its tires and the truck was damaged while Freeman was badly hurt and the truck driver Clyde Neal escaped injury. De Koning charged with murder after fatal church quarrel

Occupants of Plane Rescued From Japs
Perth reporting that 12 on a Royal Dutch airliner were rescued after being shot down north of Broome on March 13. Commander Smirmoff, wounded in arms and leg, landed the flaming craft on a beach where it was machine gunned. A woman and a child among the wounded died. RAF planes later supplied aid and eight survivors reached Beagle Bay.

Texas Stockmen Celebrate Banner Year in 1941
Texas livestock producers view 1941 as a banner year with record mohair and wool production and strong cash values. The U S Bureau reports 18 75 million pounds of mohair valued at 10 875 million and 80 25 million pounds of wool valued near 30 million, with high prices. Cattle and calves shipped fell 7 percent to 2 074 million head while sheep shipments dropped 20 percent. hog markets rose 14 percent. The report notes Texas produced 88 percent of Mohair and 20 percent of wool nationwide, aided by ample moisture and feed.
