Washington March 16 Officials estimate 525,000,000 will flow into the treasury from 1930 income tax returns filed by four million citizens before midnight today. The deadline moved to March 16 because March 15 fell on Sunday. The figures will help forecast the year end deficit by June 30.

Washington March 16 A federal official William H Von Bayer of the Indian Service in the Interior Department shot and seriously wounded his wife before killing himself in a work area incident.
The Plainview Rotary Club hosts about 60 Amarillo Rotarians at the Hilton Plainview for a noon meeting. Principal speakers are Dr. R. P. Parcella and H. C. Pipkin. Jess Sanders leads plans and notes transportation and a 9:30 a.m. Chamber of Commerce gathering.
United Press reports in Austin on March 16 show advocates renewing petitions for a pardon for James A. Duke, a Spanish American War veteran jailed after being convicted in Corsicana for attacking his daughter. Governor Moody refused release despite testimony changes from Mrs Beulah Fite of Memphis. In Fort Worth and Seymour two men face charges for the kidnapping and robbery of J B Jordan, head of an automobile exchange.
United Press reports Austin officials and city attorneys met to discuss modifications to a Texas public utilities commission bill proposed by Rep Alfred Petsch. Governor Sterling urged passage. Utilities seek appellate jurisdiction and rate refund bonds while opposing mandatory annual property appraisals.
Archi e L McCoy and R L Beers Jr face assault murder charges in McKinney Texas after a shooting that critically wounded Charli Slick Roberts while he tried to arrest two men disturbing the peace. Roberts showed slight improvement as he remained hospitalized.
