Amarillo Men Honored by Texas Safety Association
Three Amarillo men received regional honors at a two day Texas Safety Association conference in Dallas. Sid Harper Amarillo police chief was named to the administrative committee Harry Wheeldon Shamrock Oil vice president was elected regional vice president Victor Shango Southwestern Public Service personnel supervisor in Amarillo was named regional director for membership Don Conley Cabot Company in Panma was chosen regional director for industrial safety. Three area companies won industrial safety awards: Swisher Creamery Tulsa American Zinc Company of Illinois Dumas and Phillips Chemical Co Berger.

Peggy Ann Erwin Funeral Conducted
Final rites for Peggy Ann Erwin age 12 daughter of Mr and Mrs Leonard Erwin of Vega were conducted at N S Griggs and Sons Chapel with Arthur L Golden of East Amarillo Church of Christ officiating. She died Wednesday night in Hereford hospital from pneumonia burial at Dimmitt. Survived by parents two sisters.

Two Amarillo oil operators A E Herrmann and A D Weatherly were named to the executive committee of the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association at Dallas after a two day meeting. New president is R L Force of Dallas, succeeding Guy I Warren of Corpus Christi. TIPRO condemned foreign oil production and warned of higher consumer prices if independent producers are squeezed. The group also emphasized the unreliability of foreign supply in war and peace, noting contracts with dictators underpay American landowners. A long list of officers and executive committee members from multiple Texas cities was announced.
