Dr. Hermann N. Sander, acquitted of mercy killing in New Hampshire, prepared for further questioning by his peers. The lean physician, found innocent of murder charges yesterday, was set to undergo a medical panel review to assess his conduct and evidence for potential renewed scrutiny.
Grand champions set sales records at Fair Park Pavilion as Beck Atkinson daughters led gains. Shearer Atkinson paid 3.00 a pound for Floyd Acker’s grand champion barrow, and 696 dollars for a 232‑pound Chester White pig. In Jonesville Louisiana Mrs Leslie Hardie 36 the wife of a houseboat fisherman gave birth to triplets on three consecutive days. Dr N G Nasif delivered them three different birthdays with a 5 pound boy first a 6 pound girl second and a 7 pound girl third. Father aged 35 was upset but all three babies are healthy and normal.
A Dallas inspector calls a "million dollar racket" the sale of horse meat labeled as prime beef. Investigations target shipments from Chicago via Kansas City firms. In Dallas 5,600 pounds were seized while Fort Worth and Houston also confiscated substantial amounts. Houston residents reportedly consumed over 3,000 pounds. Federal and local authorities pursue leads.
A Kansas City commission firm operator claimed he bought the meat from a Chicago broker and believed it to be fine Canadian beef. A Dallas broker and meat packer said they paid beef tenderloin prices and had no inkling the meat was horse.

Shamrock Corp. voted a quarterly dividend of 40 cents a share at a board meeting of Shamrock Oil and Gas Corp. The dividend will be payable April 1 to stockholders of record March 22. Directors re elected for the coming year: J. H. Dunn as president, Ray Johnson as vice president and general counsel, Harry Wheeldon as vice president in charge of operations, F. W. Wallace as secretary, B. E. Tyler Jr. as treasurer, Dempsey A. Winn as assistant secretary, and Merle R. Williams as assistant treasurer.
Dallas milk firms Metzger Dairies and Tennessee Dairies posted new home delivery prices at 19 cents for grade A pasteurized and 20 cents for homogenized, while Oak Farms Dairies lowered wholesale grade A to 16 cents and homogenized to 17 cents. Four Fort Worth and six Lubbock dairies announced further cuts.
