Back Tito Politically

Local reports indicate Mexico may help mediate between Tito and the monarchy as world powers debate recognizing Tito’s government. President Avila Camacho reportedly aims to secure closer ties and possibly deploy Mexican forces or support to facilitate a rapprochement. The issue centers on whether the United Nations should recognize Tito and involve fighting forces in the Axis conflict.

Devises Bow For Violinists To Play Bach

Henryk Kaston of the Cleveland Symphony has patented a new bow that lets violinists pull all four strings at once for full chords while preserving Bach era phrasing. Fritz Kreisler endorses the device which shifts hairs instantly during bowing and which Wurlitzer and Easton partly funded over three years. The bow enables Bach style playing with modern flexibility and may influence future compositions. The note also mentions a 1943 all accident death toll at year’s end.
