Millis Infant Dies in Local Hospital

Jerry Lynn Millis 14 months old, son of Mr and Mrs Vernon Bilis of 403 Louisiana Street died in a local hospital. Survivors include grandparents Mr and Mrs Larry Filis of Amarillo and Mr and Mrs C Lollar of Happy. Funeral services 2:30 pm tomorrow at the Happy Methodist Church. Burial in Happy Cemetery under Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home.

Nelson Succeeds Rogers as War Dads President

Amarillo War Dads elected N. F. Nelson to succeed Ross Rogers as president after Rogers resignation. Secretary Leslie Neal will fill the unexpired term, with H. M. Timmons joining the board. The Amarillo chapter has about 400 members, up from 25 at organization. A highway meeting in Wichita Falls will be attended to push the Colorado to Gulf route.

Grain and hog market notes from Chicago March 10

Chicago reports mixed grain prices with May wheat at 1.7144 and oats around 81 cents while hogs at 22 500 head show a weak to lower tone with late trade moderately active. Prices cited include hogs 190-330 pounds at 13 to 14.10 dollars and sows steady to 10 cents lower.

Kincheloe Murder Trial May End Tonight

The defense has rested in the murder trial of John Kincheloe. The state planned to finish its rebuttal this afternoon and the case could go to the jury tonight or tomorrow morning. Kincheloe is accused of killing his son Clark at the Dallam County home after a prior six year sentence and a successful appeal for a new trial. The case was moved from Dallam County for the original trial with District Attorney John Honts of Dalhart assisting. The trial began Monday.
