F Riggs Dies At Family Home In Amarillo

C F Riggs 68 longtime Amarillo resident died suddenly at the family home on East Fourteenth Avenue. He was a Methodist church member, survived by his wife a son Robert Riggs of Camp Bowie and a sister Mrs Elizabeth Wright. Body in state at the Blackburn Shaw Chapel awaiting arrival of the son.

Stolen Firearms Reported by Dean White

Dean White reported two firearms and a camera stolen from a car at his home 2207 Hughes Street. He named a Remington rifle and a Colt special pistol both .22 calibre, each in leather cases, and the camera in a leather case.

Britain and Norway raid Lofoten Islands in bold operation

British and Allied forces sank eleven German ships and captured 225 prisoners during a surprise raid on the Lofoten Islands off Norway.
