Court Hearns West and Hernandez in Williams Murder Trial
In Laredo on June 28, testimony linked peace officers R J West and Tomas Hernandez to the death of newspaper reporter Harry Williams. Miss Louisa Garcia described a January 18 incident at the Commercial hotel and a hallway confrontation after which Williams disappeared. Dr. W E Lowry testified Williams was choked, with signs of manual strangulation. The state argues the officers killed Williams and dumped the body in the Rio Grande.
