At Roosevelt Field New York Wilmer Stultz Amelia Earhart's famed transatlantic pilot and two companions perished when an open cockpit biplane failed during a stunting flight between here and Mineola. The plane owned by John Hay Whitney spun from about 300 feet killing the crew including a man tentatively identified as Roslyn Cassaluchi.
