Roy and Raymond D Autremont left Columbus for Jackson County Oregon to face four charges of murder stemming from a mail car robbery attempt. They were under guard of Sheriff Ralph G Jennings and deputies with two postal inspectors. The trio previously arrested in Steubenville after a four year federal police search.
Thousands of women filled the streets as The Globe sponsored a Treasure Hunt in Amarillo with Great Maurice performing thrill acts. Fifty two merchants participated and crowds searched stores for gifts as Maurice staged stunts atop a twelve story Amarillo hotel after a risky slide incident earlier in the day.
In Amarillo district court a new pandering charge was added to Mrs. Ben W. Stratton amid jury selection for her murder trial. The indictment ties to the Glenwood Club where girls served as entertainers. Jury then completed after a lengthy voir dire as the trial began with Mrs. Stratton pled not guilty.
Joe Chesnas aged 22 was hanged in Harrisburg Indiana for the murder of William Ansell a mail carrier killed last August 8. The city notes include a local advertising fragment about a hotel and a Panhandle market promotion at 1200 Polk.
