Lutherans of Texas Meet at Milwaukee General Convention
Texas Lutheran delegation attends the Triennial General Convention in Milwaukee with Rev. C M Beyer of Wichita Falls as general chairman. Six pastors and six laymen carry voting power as the Texas group joins leaders including Rev C H Biar Rev P B Mierzs chin Rev A J Meyers and Bishop A J Nie man and others. The convention runs until June 25 and includes nominations for the presidency of the general synodical body.

Sheriff Bigham Acquitted in Fee Extortion Case
Bell County Sheriff John Bigham was acquitted by a 126th district court jury of extortion charges over $2.50 subpoenas. Wendland testified he did not recall being served as a witness, though he often served as a juror. Bigham was the seventh defendant tried on illegal fee collection. six prior defendants were convicted.
