Police say Roy McCloud, 22, a Black man, was held in the city jail after an incident at Third Avenue and Van Buren Street at 2 30. L. L. Livesay, Floyd Barber Jr. and Bessie Campbell are also involved. Livesay and Barber were in a car stopped at the intersection when the incident occurred. McCloud is expected to be transferred to county authorities on an incident with intent to commit a serious crime. Bacon Burnam reports to Chief McDowell.
The Panhandle Bankers Association adjourned after electing L. B. Steel of Dalhart as president. Other officers named include C. A. Gibner Spearman first vice president, Frank Paul Panhandle second vice president, Delea Vicars Pampa secretary, and Thomas E. Noel Memphis treasurer.

Fifty Spanish-Americans escaped injury when a powerful storm struck Tucumcari New Mexico on Monday night. A roof collapsed and garages were wrecked as three inch hail perforated roofs and shattered plate glass. Electric and phone lines were cut and the storm stayed within the city limits.
