Turn in used fats to help make soap faster
Citizens are urged to save all used fats daily as a way to support soap production. The program notes that one pound of collected fats can yield about two pounds of soap, with a payout of four cents per pound from the local butcher.
Used Fats Recycled to Boost Soap Production
Local effort promotes recycling of used fats to fuel soap manufacturing. Farmers and processors collaborate to supply feedstock, cutting waste and supporting regional soap makers as they scale output and reduce disposal costs.
Barbara Boxwell Crowns New Queen at Christian College
Barbara Boxwell of Amarillo passed the crown of Commencement Queen to Nancy Lyons of Kentucky during Christian College’s annual coronation in Columbia MO. The 1945 queen, daughter of Mr and Mrs Howard Boxwell, chaired school clubs and activities and served as yearbook editor.
