Plane crash spits on Highway 66 near Amarillo injures none
An ex Army B-18 twin motor plane belly landed on Highway 66 east of Amarillo near Tech Village at 10:30 this morning. The two occupants, Burton and Rand Sprankle, escaped injury as the plane tore 100 yards of fence and suffered propeller and wing damage. Fire trucks and an ambulance arrived. the ship was to be moved off the highway. The pilots had been ferrying the privately owned craft to Phoenix for licensing.
