Washington reports the death of Herbert M. Lord former director of the budget at his home at 8 15 this morning. He had been in ill health since retirement last year and resigned on June 1 1929 to join Arthur Kleeman Company in New York. His son Major Kenneth P. Lord and daughter Mrs Frank Van Resseleer were cited among those near him. President Hoover expressed regret and praise for his government service.
