The Snook murder trial enters its second week as jury selection becomes an endurance test. Optimists hope for progress today, but observers expect it will take until Thursday to complete the jury. Deputy sheriffs added a third batch of thirty names as fresh venire arrives.
Nation’s newest heroes land as Braniff Airways announces service to St Louis will begin shortly. The item notes aviation progress and public enthusiasm for new air routes in 1929.
Braniff Airlines of Oklahoma City plans new service linking Amarillo with Fort Worth and Dallas within a short time. Texas Air Transport officials disclosed the plan, with the Amarillo line replacing an earlier Texas Air Transport proposal that would run from Amarillo via Big Spring to San Antonio and Houston.

He helped lead multiple oil ventures and worked in Spindletop era leases, with three brothers in the industry.
Unfavorable weather reports at Friedrichshafen Tuesday afternoon suggested the Graf Zeppelin’s dawn Thursday launch would be postponed due to an approaching storm. An American couple from New York, Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Pierce, will miss the voyage as Mrs. Pierce is ill in Russia. Mr and Mrs H G Wilson of 1404 Fairmont street just returned from a Central Texas trip visiting two of the first Boy and Girl Scout camps in the state. They previously served as councillors at Camp Mystic and Camp Stewart near Kerrville and were honored at a dinner by organizer A S Stewart. Mrs Wilson is now commissioner for the city Girl Scouts while Mr Wilson and their family supported the Am arillo Boy Scout organization.
Dale Red Jackson and Forest Obie O Brine piloted the St Louis Robin in 420 hours 21 minutes of continuous flight setting a new longest duration by an airplane. They landed at Lambert Field under Major Robertson's orders after achieving their goals and declaring potential to beat their own mark.
