Hair Line Balance Struggles With Amarillo Water Supply
Amarillo's water system hovered between fair and critical this morning as officials predicted today’s usage would decide the condition. Yesterday 15.2 million gallons were used, storage reached 8.5 million gallons by 8 am, leaving 1.5 million gallons to reach the 10 million target. Two days of heavy use left tanks near empty. refilling was hoped for yesterday and the day before but did not occur. If this afternoon sees heavy demand, storage could become critically low tomorrow. if light, the system may remain fair.
