Dempsey Must Appear Before New York Athletic Commission
New York July 21 The boxing commission ordered Jack Dempsey to appear personally to finalize plans for a 1926 title fight with Harry Wills, rejecting Tex Rickard as a proxy. The decision delays the Dempsey program by at least two weeks while Rickard awaits Dempsey's return.
