Seven arrestes tied to auto theft and narcotics rings

Seven men were arrested within hours as police probe two city crime rings. Four suspects face auto theft and parts stripping charges after a Chevrolet roadster belonging to W. C. Boyd was stripped on July 17. Three narcotics suspects, J. Mc King L. WH Steele and D. G. Smith, were taken into custody with drugs.

Opera star Mary McCormic daughter of Amarillo residents will return October 25 for a concert at the Municipal auditorium under Emil F. Myers as the opening event of the fall Music Festival. Body of Drowned Girl Held for Funeral Plan

The body of Laura Josephine Goans ten year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Goans of 800 North Fillmore street drowned yesterday afternoon in a gravel pit swimming hole north of the city and is in state at Blackburn Boxwell funeral parlors awaiting funeral arrangements and arrival of relatives. Amarillo Files 52 Weed Law Complaints in City Court

City weed secretary Mine Alma Roach filed fifty two weed complaints yesterday in police court against Amarillo residents. Offenders must appear before Judge E A McKinnon. Roach says out of town responses have been favorable and many citizens urged city crews to cut weeds on vacant lots. Citizens urged to cooperate and report violations to Miss Roach at 2221.

20000 Fish Rescue After Tierra Blanco Flood

About 20005 fish were rescued from Tierra Blanco creek east of Can yon after heavy rains. Local game warden 8 D Turner, aided by W Gordon and 8 D Turner Jr, led efforts saving game fish including bass bluegill and channel cat. Volunteers from Will H. Daily League joined the rescue as waters receded.
