Train wreck in Georgia kills one injures sixteen
One passenger died on a Georgia derailment near Rome when a defective rail snapped after nine cars passed. Sixteen were injured, four seriously, with most taken to Chattanooga for treatment. James M. Russell 37 formerly of Los Angeles died after contact with a 44 000 volt live wire while working as a lineman for Southwestern Public Service in Panhandle.
