Funeral Set Friday for Marine Paratrooper James White
Funeral services for Pharmacist Mate Second Class James Walter White will be held Friday at 2 PM in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel with Rev J W Lisemore officiating. Burial in Llano Cemetery under Blackburn-Shaw direction. White died November 9 1943 at Bougainville while serving as a Marine paratrooper at 18. He was a former Amarillo student and Methodist church member. Survivors include his mother Mrs Vernan Eisenberg and Audrey White of Renton Wash. Two brothers George H White of Amarillo and Cpl Clinton E White in Guam with US Marines.
