Mary Nobles Hosts A Lavish Luncheon For Guests

Miss Mary Nobles and guests including Miss Margaret Burnett of Rocky Mountain North Carolina Miss Paul Dillard of Durham North Carolina and Miss Margaret Hardin of Los Angeles visited Amarillo for a luncheon at the country club. The event featured bridge in lavender and rose decor a four course meal and guest prizes with Imogene Slade high scorer and Mary Nobles second. The guest list included numerous local ladies and two Dallas visitors.

Death of Walter Caulfield Shocks Friends in City

Walter Caulfield former local businessman died recently in Baltimore while with International Harvester before sailing to Buenos Aires. He had left his local interests in 1926 for his wife Margaret Rider Caulfield, who mourns her mother Jennie E. Rider. Burial takes place in Griggsville Illinois beside her mother's grave. Community sympathy pours out to Mrs Caulfield.

Expression and Piano Recital Tonight at Second Baptist

Mrs. Sid Cleghorn presents a group of pupils in an expression and piano recital at 8 15 this evening at the Second Baptist church. The public and interested friends are invited to attend. Child Candy Thieves Ordered To Pull Weeds

Willows California July 8 United Press reports three juvenile thieves Teddy Hall six Floyd Hall eight and Billy Hall nine broke into a confectionery shop filling their tummies with fifteen dollars worth of candy. A court edict assigns them to pull weeds at twenty five cents an hour to repay the loss.

Revival Meeting Ends Sunday at Church of Christ

West Texas Tennis Meet Opens at Texas Tech Courts

In Amarillo and Lubbock amid perfect weather, fifty entries from El Paso Amarillo Abilene Lubbock Sweetwater Brownwood San Angelo Amherst Slaton La Mesa and Hamlin begin singles and doubles preliminaries of the West Texas Tennis Association fifth annual tournament. The draw closes after 9 am and director general Frazier McCrummens says play through semi finals will finish by tomorrow noon. Lov ing cups and medals are offered by the association.
