R B McClane age 31, Humble Refining employee, was found dead with his head blown off by a shotgun at the Humble Pumping station on Paradise Creek about five miles south of Vernon. He was discovered by A C Cobert who came to relieve him. The body lay on a couch outside the station with a shotgun on the floor.

Thirteen airplanes in the national air tour headed into a storm and departed Louisville for Memphis. The first ship left at 10 o'clock with others at one minute intervals, and the trip is expected to take about three and a half hours.
Glen L. Bruner, a Kansas City attorney, was charged as an accomplice to the June 27 robbery of the First Bank of Truscott in Knox County. He is in custody in Amarillo as about $1,007 was taken and most of it recovered and returned by Sheriff Melton.

Three Lubbock women Miss Elsie Link Miss Elsie Easley and Miss Ruth Smith employed by Texas Utilities were injured when the light car they rode in crashed down a 40 foot embankment near Crosbyton and rolled several times. Miss Link is in a sanitarium. others suffer non life threatening injuries.
