Auto Ends Rampage In Garage On Monroe Street

James W. Bush Jr., 20, of 4214 Monroe, blacked out while driving north on Monroe near 3814. His car careened through yards and fences, plowed into the garden and the James E. Fowler garage at 3704 Monroe, tearing through walls and nearly injuring him. He drove off shaken but unhospitalized.

City Eyes Gem Lake Pool Deal To Augment Thompson Park

Amarillo Park and Recreation Commission recommends the city commission study acquiring Gem Lake Pool to supplement Thompson Park Pool facilities. Gem Lake Pool, once the region’s largest and Amarillo’s only pool for years, sits west of the Amarillo Country Club on Gem Lake Road near the new Highway 66 by pass route. Bath houses and related facilities need repair though the main swimming tank is in fairly good shape.

In Shattuck Oklahoma a lightning bolt struck a grove near Fargo yesterday afternoon killing Miss Arletta Eagon 24 and injuring 12 others including Mrs Orville Bargon 19 who was seriously hurt.
