Spectators Barred as Dempsey Trains for Sharkey Bout

Spectators were kept out of Jack Dempsey's training camp at Saratoga Lake as he works to master a new defensive style ahead of the July 21 Yankee Stadium showdown with Jack Sharkey. Manager Leo Flynn says the public exclusion shields Dempsey from training difficulties while he adapts his rush and smash fighting to outpoint or knock out Sharkey. About 3,000 fans were disappointed by the restriction amid rumors of a possible postponement after the previous week's death by suicide of former champion Johnny Dempsey. Flynn insisted the fight date remains fixed.
