Two Die As Truck Hits Train At Etter Crossing

A freight truck collided with a Rock Island freight train near Etter crossing one mile north of Dumas Moore County. Blant B Mills 33 of Pantex Village and H R McMillan 38 of Pueblo Colo died in the blaze. The Denver Amarillo Express truck carried 14000 pounds of mixed cargo and burned beyond salvage.

Soaring Meet Opens at Wichita Falls With International Flight Crews

Bats Resemble Mystery Planes Seen Over Leone Star

Ted Oliver of Leone Star Supply Company reports three silver bats at about 50 feet altitude flying in a star-step pattern at roughly 40 mph. He compared them to Gisks and noted silvery fur, short tails, and circular wings. The sighting suggests Megadermidae bat species common in tropical regions.

Fleeing Woman Shot in Dallas Residential Area

A westbound Rock Island Rocket was halted in East Amarillo by about 20 mounted men identified as Will Rogers Range Riders. They boarded with an unseen group from the Amarillo Exchange Club and staged a ride with mock trials before the train continued to the station.

Garssons Convicted In Wartime Influence Scandal

Former Congressman Andrew J. May is found guilty of selling influence as wartime chairman of the House Military Committee. Munitions financiers Henry and Murray Garsson are convicted of paying more than $50 000 in bribes during the war years. Jury deliberated 1 hour 50 minutes. Pilot May Have Aimed Plane at Wife's Home

Deputy Sheriff Claude High investigated a theory that Torris V Siegle 27 year old flight instructor crashed in Miami to strike his estranged wife s home. The plane flew low over the area twice and crashed two blocks from the home near a bakery with 15 workers nearby.
