Taking Cameras To Palo Duro Park
Camera fans planned a visit to Palo Duro State Park as John McCarty noted the lodge open with food and coffee, full park staff on duty, and animals in corrals ready for photos. The road to the park is travelable. A 1945 tax sale involved selling the road, and The Texas Company won a bid to supply 16,000 gallons of gasoline at 15 cents per gallon for city vehicles.

Amarillo Sets Wells Pumps Bids and Light Installations
Amarillo city commissioners accepted the third bid for pumps for three water wells at the Westex site in Randall County south of Bushland. H. H. M Heiskeil bid 4,574 dollars per pump and 5,985 dollars for drilling and developing each well. Submersible pumps negate full well houses, saving costs. The plans foresee about three million gallons per day extra. The commission also approved over 30 overhead street lights in northeast Amarillo and agreed to pay about 300 dollars in delinquent taxes on property bought at tax sale near The Children’s Home. A charter amendment to extend the city commission to seven members was proposed by the Forest Hill Civic Club for the April 1 election.
