Property owners must pay taxes by tomorrow midnight to avoid delinquency penalties unless they have paid the first half under the installment plan. Second half is due June 30. City Hall tax office stays open until midnight for late reports. Large property owners have paid heavily so far.
The Army Air Corps unveiled a robot pilot able to fly a bomber to target, drop missiles, and return. Developed by Dr C D Barbalesco and team, the system uses Sperry gyros and radio beacons, with several versions including ground-controlled operations for long-range missions.
Funeral services for Mrs Leona LaVan Marshall 44 who died yesterday in an Amarillo hospital will be at 2 PM tomorrow in Wellington announced by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Chapel. She was the wife of J G Marshall of Wellington and is survived by her husband mother a brother and a sister all residents of Wellington.

Augusta reports the national council urged Great Britain to purchase all American cotton, arguing the United States aids Britain in armaments. Other resolutions pressed states to abolish oleomargarine and cottonseed product taxes and asked Congress to repeal federal margarine procurement laws.
