Potter County Sees Major Cut in Expenditures in 1933
County Commissioner Frank Buckingham reports that Potter County reduced overall expenditures by 382,319.53 in 1933 versus 1932, with an operating deficit drop from 166,264.19 to 26,893.06. Income fell 204,761.20, mainly from taxes, yet the county achieved an operating gain of 193,157.25. Jury funds rose while several road and general fund categories fell, and the overdraft narrowed to 49,876.65.

Veterans return to full strength at Palo Duro Park
CCC veterans at Palo Duro Park will be recruited back to full strength of 206 men each in a recent announcement. Major Kingsley, general superintendent, will direct the men while Army officers oversee feeding housing and welfare. Kingsley earlier served as city and county engineer in Arkansas and Dallas and has Panhandle ties.
