In Carterville Michigan a long string of antics by Corum McGee at Oak Grove Church ends with a revival. Now a revival draws crowds as he leads the sawdust trail with eighty already enrolled.
Hillsboro officials said they would turn H. L. Chili Red Cobb over to Johnson County authorities for murder trial in the slaying of 18 year old T. B. Gullett. Gullett's body was found in the smoldering hay barn near Burleson on January 20. Cobb was arrested at his home nearby several days earlier.
Washington Jan 27 The War Department announced a new five year plan for the Army Air Corps to add 1 000 planes 400 regular officers and 6 200 enlisted men.
Amarillo's senior high hosts emergency education classes for 15 to 65 year olds. French and Spanish are taught for chic and job value, with 29 students from varied backgrounds learning typing shorthand public speaking and more. Twenty four teachers are finally paid for their efforts as evening sessions run 5 to 10 pm.
President Roosevelt sent to the House a request for 950 million dollars to extend the Civil Works Administration and direct federal relief. The lump sum covers both civil works and relief without itemized amounts, aiming to prevent a sudden cutoff by February 1934. He urged Congress to support the continuation of these relief activities.

Slaton resident Ed Strasser aged about living alone perished in a morning blaze on the city outskirts. The fire, likely caused by smoking, left only a niece Ruth Strasser in Winston MO as a known relative. Strasser was a member of Hood and Strasser Lumber Co. Interment will be in Slaton.
Forecast covers week starting Monday for Southern Plains and West Gulf states. Generally fair, but cloudy early with likely rain in South Texas later in the week. Colder in northern portions at the start, then moderate temperatures afterward, with another cold snap near dawn in some areas.

Ice relief shifts threaten Little America and supply bases four and a half miles away. Soundings show 1,600 feet of water under Little America as the ice shelf collapses.
Topeka Kansas January 27 UP former Kansas treasurer Tom Boyd was found guilty on two counts of embezzling 260600 from the treasury in connection with the 1,500,000 forged bond scandal uncovered last year. Sentence to be pronounced later. The two counts carry a total penalty of four to ten years.
In Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania on January 27 unrest flared as five dynamitations an incendiary blaze and stoning accompanied coal miners strikes in the Wyoming Valley. Three houses at Plains and two at Larksville were damaged by bombs during the violence.
