Radio station construction to start in Amarillo
The United States Department of Commerce Airways Division will begin building a radio broadcasting station and a beacon range station in Amarillo around February 1. The project costs about 52000 with location near Municipal Airport and English Field. M L Ericksen and L H Simson supervise the plan and construction from the Chamber of Commerce office. The facilities form part of a nationwide system to guide fliers along the transcontinental route improving safety in darkness and fog. Completion is expected in about three months.
