Comic Opera at Fair Wins Critics Praise
The Chimes of Normandy, a tuneful light opera, was staged at the Fair theater by the May Valentine Comic Opera Company to strong praise. Performances were superior to the Bohemian Girl with standout acting, especially Mabel Day as Serpolette, and Frederick Wheeler as Gaspard the miser. May Valentine directed well from the pit.
