Carmel N Y January 24 Edward W Browning separation suit against his wife Frances Peaches Heenan opened at 1050 am and adjourned to White Plains for 10 o clock tomorrow. two witnesses testified for Browning including his chauffeur Edward P Carney and secretary John T Gorman. Court filled with 300 seated and 100 standing. Browning entered to loud applause, while Mrs Browning cried during the opening moments.
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled Denver juvenile court judge Ben B. Lindsey was ousted after contest proceedings by Royal W. Graham. The decision vacates the post. Graham died months earlier under mysterious circumstances and Lindsey’s 1924 victory is overturned, leaving the judgeship vacant. Lindsey founded the juvenile court and was famed for his work with boys.

Tulsa January report states Mia Edna Cling, 20, widow, was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to five years for shooting her husband Wesley Cline during a drinking party at their home on the night of November 80.
Potter County library closes indefinitely due to smallpox order. Patrons may return books in the door box after 9 am but by 6 pm. Cassell W. Noe twenty year old medical student at the University of Wisconsin killed himself claiming he wished to learn what is beyond the grave. He left notes for his mother and others mentioning a pact among students to communicate with the dead and a message to be watched for. Noe, from a prominent family and active on campus, had discussed death with fraternity brothers and was connected to a psychology study milieu.
The mid winter term of Potter county district court opens with a record docket. Judge Henry S. Bishop delivers the grand jury charge as 300 civil cases and 77 criminal cases await disposition during the ten week session. Forty petit jurors are sworn. appearance day sets new cases for trial.
Amanda House, a 35 year old negro woman, is jailed on a murder charge for the shooting of Harry Barber near the servant quarters at 702 Jackson street. Barber, shot three times, reportedly tried to strike House before the fatal volley. Officers Luce and Gamblin captured her twenty minutes after the shooting. an automatic pistol was found nearby. House says Barber had habit of beating her.
Los Angeles January 24 Earl J Clark convicted murderer of a ban ted sailor in a quarrel over a girl escaped from county jail last March. He was brought back to the jail today handcuffed to two sheriffs after being arrested and identified last week in Minoda.
