Mrs Irene Davis 24 of 513 East Fifth suffered a fractured left shoulder and bruises after leaping from a jeep traveling 50 to 60 mph on Highway 60 near Amarillo Airport. She told deputies the ride began with an argument involving Ira Davis and Kirby Turpen, who is jailed on a drunk and disturbance charge. Turpen pled guilty and was fined $1 and costs, jailed in lieu of the fine.
Sheriff says Badman Bill Cook, 24, of Joplin Missouri, captured in the lower California peninsula with two El Centro prospectors Forrest Damron and James Burke. They were unharmed as Mexican authorities were notified he and the abducted men were being brought to Tijuana by airplane. The manhunt followed the discovery of the Mosser family car near Tulsa Oklahoma. their bodies have not been found.
American forces near Seoul push to within 23 miles as J Lawton Collins says the United States will remain in Korea and fight. Allied units retake Osan and press north with air support while Reds withdraw toward Wonju and Yongwol amid heavy combat.

The Weather Bureau reports fair conditions across Amarillo and vicinity with warmer conditions today and Tuesday. High today around 62 degrees, lows near 28, and a high tomorrow near 60. Panhandle outlook is mostly favorable for outdoor work, with West Texas fair and slightly warmer today and tonight, and little temperature change Tuesday. New Mexico expect fair days with warmer and windy today.
President Truman urged Congress to raise at least 16.456 billion dollars in new taxes to finance a 1952 budget of 71.594 billion, warning that the figure could rise and insisting balance is vital even with a 20 billion dollar tax increase. He projected higher future budgets and called for wage and price controls, rent recontrol, and extended revenue measures including a possible national sales tax. The plan relies heavily on defense and security spending, with armed forces and national security programs absorbing over 52.5 billion dollars.
Washington figures show the government will spend 58 cents of every tax dollar on military services 10 cents on international aid 8 cents on interest on debt 7 cents on veterans programs and 17 cents on all other expenses in the 1952 fiscal year.
