Rooftop burglars hit Montgomery Ward for 5600 in Amarillo
Thieves burglarized Montgomery Ward in Amarillo last night, stealing a 1600 pound safe and about 5600 dollars in cash and checks, plus four guns and ammunition. The heist used an air duct from the roof to the second floor, with entry attempted earlier on the north side. The alarm was raised by Margaret Howard and manager O C Adams reported the incident to police. The store opened late due to lack of change.
