Death of F D O Bryants ends notable railroad career in Amarillo
Burlington reports the death Sunday of F D Dave O Bryant at his home 1612 Buchanan Street after weeks of illness. Born July 25 1861 in Piedmont Alabama he began as a brakeman with L and N at Birmingham in 1887 then worked for Rock Island in Shawnee before moving to Amarillo in 1906 as a Fort Worth and Denver brake man later a conductor until retirement. Renowned for abstinence he belonged to Polk Street Methodist Church Masons Shrine and the Order of Railway Conductors. Interment was at Llano Cemetery with Mrs J W Mode and daughter mentioned.
