Amarillo Lions Club leads U S in net membership gains

The Amarillo Lions Club tops the United States for net membership gains in Lions International for the first half of the current fiscal year. Twenty nine new members joined in January with two more in February, announced by Joe B. Dooley. The club rank places it eighth among all Lions units, ahead of San Francisco Spokane and others. Negro sues over cigar allegedly growing longer while smoked

In Louisville Kentucky a Black man asked an attorney to file suit against a cigar salesman who charged $1.50 for a cigar that supposedly grew longer as he smoked it. The man claims the cigar burned down like a 5-cent variety.
