Potter County Rural Schools will receive a free dental examination this week. Sponsored by the Texas State Board of Health, with Dr. Bob Younger as chair and Dr. R. P. Parcells president of the Amarillo Dental Society. Examinations begin Wednesday at 9 a.m. at River Road School for River Road, Allison, Highland Park and Brady schools.
Photographs were taken today at Fourth Avenue and Madison Street by police photographer Virgil Beavers to show the height of the proposed Panhandle wide police radio tower and compare it with Amarillo’s tallest structures. The tower stands about 185 feet and may require painting and lighting as a warning to low flying airplanes, though pictures argue it will not be substantially taller than the city’s tallest buildings.
Building in Amarillo received two permits this morning totaling 12000 dollars. Dr. E F Lanham obtained a seven room brick house permit for 2619 Hayden Street and W B Richardson secured a six room frame permit for 1618 Parker Street. With under 100 permits issued so far the total estimated cost now exceeds a quarter of a million dollars.
More than 500 pennies and four silver dollars were taken from L. B. Rogers home at 2200 North West First Avenue. Police also investigated a burglary at Miller Motor Freight offices with radios stolen, and a cigaret shipment vanished from the Santa Fe freight dock.
Federal authorities charged Ed ward A. Quakes and Olivia Henning burg with conspiring to violate the White Slave Traffic Act. Arrests were by federal officers in Memphis on a fugitive warrant from Mobile Alabama. Bond was set at $1,000 each at arraignment before the U S Commissioner.
Warren O Kane faced a trial in 47th district court on eight forgery charges this morning. Proceedings began with the case expected to continue today as witnesses and evidence are presented.
A W George Jr traveling engineer for the Public Works Administration visited Amarillo area projects on an official inspection tour. He met resident engineers Walter Collard and F D Hughes. total cash involved reached 711385 with 320123 in grants. Projects progress at a satisfactory pace and are expected to be completed on time.
Hi roji Saito aged 51, former Japanese ambassador to the United States, died in Washington from a respiratory ailment. He retired last fall and declined Japan's foreign minister post, citing failing health. Secretary Hull lauded his five years of effort for friendly U S relations, noting his handling after the Panay incident.

A parade and dinner will feature Shrine day with special entertainment for nobles and ladies. Floy and Gib Howard will be on the program for Amarillo.

Survivors include his widow Effie Sloan, son W Leslie Sloan, his mother Ollie Hallmark, stepson Ray Carter, two half brothers and four half sisters. Burial in Llano Cemetery.
