Tonight is fair and colder with Friday fair skies. Temperatures range from a 30 degree high to 26 degree low today with regional readings around 26 to 31 as hours pass. Oklahoma and Louisiana forecast partly cloudy or generally fair through Friday, with Arkansas mostly cloudy tonight and Friday.

Frank Kochan aged 26 died at his father Paul Kochan’s residence 1211 Polk street at 12 20 this morning after a lingering illness. He leaves a daughter under two, his father, three elder relatives and several named relatives in Amarillo Pampa and Lubbock. He had been ill since his wife’s death and had returned to Amarillo last November. Funeral arrangements await out of town relatives. he was a Knights of Columbus and Lions Club member.
The Senate agreed to a 150000 deficit item in the Deficiency Appropriation bill for a survey of the Nicaraguan canal after Senator Dill of Washington opposed it. Dill mounted a one man filibuster that kept the Senate in session until 2 40 this morning. Griggs ambulance, Phone 4311.
Amarillo and the Panhandle faced unseasonable cold with temperatures below freezing and a sudden snow flurry beginning around 10 40 this morning. Forecasters had predicted fair skies, but snow covered streets quickly and began melting as it fell leaving slushy conditions by afternoon.
The Associated Press reports expenditures of 9,483,604 for the Republican ticket and 7,152,511 for the Democratic ticket in the last national campaign. The figures cover national and state expenses as reported by the Senate campaign funds investigating committee.
Tulsa, Feb 28. Bread and quick silver, boats, grappling hooks, hundreds of feet of cable and scores of men were used in an effort to recover the body of little Virginia Patterson, 3, from the Arkansas River. Virginia had been missing for more than thirty six hours after an afternoon of play with two boys, Arthur Baker 5 and Braxton Baker 2, whose parents are Mr and Mrs Arthur Baker. The search led to the bridge across the Arkansas where the children had been playing.
