Ofilio Herrera, a Bexar County resident, was held in Mason County jail on murder charges in the slaying of Sheriff Allen T. Murray near Mason. A companion is being sought as authorities report Herrera was arrested Thursday night on Brady road eight miles from Mason after a stalled car was found. witnesses placed Murray in the same lane speaking with two men.

President Coolidge nominates Curtis D. Wilbur Secretary of the Navy for United States circuit judge in the ninth circuit. Wilbur would leave naval service if confirmed. The nomination was announced today in Washington.

Fred Horsbrugh, 72, former Spur ranch manager and 25 year cattle commission figure in Amarillo, died at Mineral Wells at 9 30 this morning. Born near Edinburgh Scotland, he came to America to work cattle in Iowa then led the Espuela Land and Cattle Company in Texas. Survived by widow and three daughters Mrs Sullivan Tulsa Okla Mrs Smith Amarillo and Mrs Saunders Amarillo plus one sister and two brothers in Scotland. Ambulance contact 4311.
Fiddlers contest draws a large turnout at Municipal auditorium with twelve entrants and ample vaudeville acts. Entry is 25 cents, children under 12 free, doors open at 7, program starts 8. Judges include W N Baker and others as potter county officials and local figures.
